Cart Saver for iHerb · Effective 28 October 2026 · Version 0.3.1

What the extension reads

When you choose to check an iHerb cart, the extension reads the visible product names and IDs, quantities, coupon results, displayed totals, currency and delivery destination. Destination text can include a postcode or address. This information stays in temporary memory on your device to compare prices and detect cart changes; it is not uploaded to our feed or saved as a shopping history. The active tab URL is checked to confirm it is an iHerb cart.

Checking temporarily changes the site's coupon field to try candidate codes, then attempts to restore your original code. Applying a result changes the coupon on iHerb only when you choose Apply. The extension does not change quantities, place orders or process payment.

What is stored locally

Chrome local extension storage keeps your language, optional cashback account market, public coupon feed and its refresh timestamps. These are not synced by this extension to an account. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage. Closing or refreshing the cart discards the in-memory comparison.

Network requests

The extension downloads a shared public JSON feed over HTTPS from iherb-cart-saver-feed.vercel.app, normally every six hours. It sends no cart data, account identifiers or unique installation identifier, and omits cookies. If needed, it requests the official public iHerb offers page for the selected country, also without cookies. iHerb receives coupon changes through its existing cart controls and handles them under its own privacy policy.

Our hosting providers, Vercel and Vultr, may process normal network information such as IP addresses, request timestamps, paths and browser information to deliver and secure these requests. Provider-managed log retention is subject to their current service settings and policies; this project does not promise that those logs are never retained. We do not create individual shopping profiles or store raw cart data in application logs.

The server's optional Jina Reader accesses public offer pages. Your cart, address, login credentials and browsing history are not sent to Jina or an AI model. All extension executable code is included in the installed package; remote feed updates are data only.

Feedback and external links

Feedback is voluntary and opens GitHub Issues. Reports and anything you attach are public under GitHub's policies. No screenshot, cart or diagnostic file is attached automatically. Redact names, addresses, order details and account information. Optional cashback links open the provider you select; tracking and eligibility are governed by that provider. Cart Saver adds no affiliate identifier and does not activate cashback for you.

Limited use

We do not sell user data, use it for targeted advertising, or use or transfer it for purposes unrelated to checking cart offers. We do not use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility. The extension includes no advertising trackers or analytics. It does not read passwords, authentication cookies or payment card details.

Contact and changes

For privacy questions, use the project feedback page without including personal data. Updates to this policy are versioned with the public source. Material changes to data use will be explained before introducing the corresponding feature.
